Johann von Berry (Jean de Berry) lebte von 1340 bis 1416. Er war ein leidenschaftlicher Kunstsammler und auch Sammler wertvoller Handschriften. Durch seine Einwirkung entstand das Stundenbuch (französisch „Très Riches Heures“) mit kostbaren Illustrationen, welches heute als die bedeutendste und berühmteste Buchmalerei aus der Zeit des Mittelalters in Frankreich gilt. Das Stundenbuch enthält mit mehr als 200 kunstvollen Abbildungen auch Darstellungen zu den zwölf Monaten, die du auf dieser Wissenskarte bewundern kannst. Gezeichnet wurden diese Bilder von dem Maler Paul Limburg und seinen Brüdern. |
